Adapting a Brand Refresh for Paid Media @ Njord

The Challenge:

The client had recently gone through a brand refresh with an external studio, one they weren't fully happy with. What they were left with wasn't quite viable for advertising, and it fell to us to take that raw material and turn it into something that actually worked in market. The brief also carried a clear constraint: don't drift back toward how the brand used to present itself.

The Approach:

Dark mode was cut for three months, a deliberate break from the old visual identity. From there, the focus shifted to visualizing the product itself rather than abstracting it. Software was shown in product-box mockups, since the platform's real home is a large-scale grid control center, not a laptop screen.

Event-specific ads grounded the brand in real place, an event centred around a project in Arholma was represented through a landscape with the same quiet, coastal character as the island, and an Auckland event through the natural landscape surrounding it.

Since the client's core positioning is sustainability within the grid, the visual language had to read as technical without ever feeling environmentally indifferent. Two elements carried through as a consistent thread across the batch: the hexagon illustration motif and the grid itself.

The Result:

The batch played a direct role in closing a major deal in Spain, with the target account exposed to the campaign repeatedly across three separate targeting layers (IP-based, account-based, and broad LinkedIn delivery) rather than a single channel. The wider campaign reached 286 unique accounts, with strong engagement from major names including Capgemini, Microsoft, HSBC, and Siemens.

The Effect:

A brand that didn't fully trust its own new look ended up seeing itself clearly in the work, and that consistent presence helped carry a major deal in Spain across the line.
